OVERVIEW

Christopher Burtley is a litigator by trade who uses his strong analytical skills and ability to communicate clearly to serve as a dedicated advocate for his clients. He uses his knowledge, drive and passion to help emerging businesses, corporations, and individuals with their growth, dispute resolution, financial, and transactional goals.

Christopher represents clients across the spectrum – from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies – in a range of contentious matters, including breach of contract, tortious interference, supply chain disputes, and more, providing counsel through discovery and trial preparation.

He provides a solution-focused approach to negotiating commercial transactions. Beyond his litigation work, Christopher offers strategic advice to emerging business entities and individuals seeking to grow their business while effectively managing risk.

Additionally, he counsels professional athletes on a variety of legal issues including commercial partnerships, intellectual property protection and estate planning.

During law school, Christopher served as a judicial intern for the Hon. Gershwin A. Drain for the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and worked for two Michigan-based national law firms.

Christopher has always been interested in and dedicated to helping others. While earning his undergraduate degree, he studied Spanish and Latin American culture in Merida, Venezuela. He also mentored diverse and first generation college students while serving in Michigan State University’s Office of Cultural and Academic Transitions and Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Program ("GEAR UP"), a federal grant program administered by the United States Department of Education.
