Bashir’s passion for creativity and understanding of even the most complicated chemical compounds enrich his ability to effectively prosecute patents from a broad array of industries. He provides comprehensive legal counsel on virtually all phases of the patent development process, including analyzing invention disclosures, preparing and filing patent applications, and shepherding the application through the process to approval.
In addition to his work in the U.S. patent system, Bashir regularly partners with foreign affiliates to prosecute patents throughout North America, Europe and Asia. Notably, Bashir has managed patent portfolios for small- to large-sized pharmaceutical and chemical companies involving up to 50 families of cases in more than 20 countries.
A complement to his honed skill in patent prosecution, Bashir prepares opinions on infringement and non-infringement and the validity and invalidity of patents. He is also called upon to determine the strength of a given patent or patent family and the best possible course of action going forward.
Bashir’s broad skills and deep experience in patent preparation and prosecution has benefitted individuals and investors, entrepreneurs and startups, research institutions, middle market companies, and large domestic and international corporations. Appreciated for his dedication and hard work in continuously cultivating the confidence and trust of those he serves, Bashir delivers the requisite solutions needed to create patent strategies that support and bolster his client’s competitive edge.
Regardless of the size or complexity of a matter, Bashir helps each client use patent strategies to achieve key business objectives. He is valued for his forward-thinking stance to problem-solving, as he works with clients to explore their end goals and prepare for a wide range of possibilities in both the domestic and global markets.
Prior to the law, Bashir worked as a scientist for a fuel-cell technology start-up and for one of the world’s largest Fortune 500 household products companies. As a result, Bashir is able to translate complicated information into straightforward and comprehensive patent applications. Moreover, working in-house gave Bashir a multidimensional understanding of the pressures business professionals face on a daily basis when it comes to R&D and budgetary restrictions.
Bashir is not regularly admitted to practice law in the local courts of the District of Columbia. Pursuant to Rule 49 his practice in the District of Columbia is limited to federal courts and agencies.
