Andrew’s servicing practice covers securitized and non-securitized loans on agency and non-agency multifamily properties. He guides lender clients through loan assumptions, transfers of ownership interests, and a wide range of other servicing requests, drawing on a working knowledge of the customs, requirements, and standards that govern both agency and non-agency servicing. He regularly handles lender consent requests on complex tax-exempt and taxable affordable multifamily transactions. Andrew represents servicers individually and, on more complex matters, acts as consolidated counsel for multiple loan servicers.

As Virginia local counsel, Andrew advises lenders and borrowers on real estate and real estate finance transactions, including local counsel opinions. He structures transactions with close attention to Virginia transfer tax and mortgage recordation tax, helping clients identify approaches that can reduce those costs.

Andrew’s background also includes commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing for national and regional clients. Earlier in his career, he advised builders, developers, and lenders through the planning, acquisition, development, and sale of apartment, condominium, single-family, multifamily, office, and mixed-use projects. Before entering private practice, he served as a law clerk to the Hon. Claude M. Hilton of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
