Alyssa Steinberger is a staff attorney in Barnes & Thornburg’s Litigation Department in the firm’s Washington, D.C., office. She focuses on matters involving regulatory compliance, export controls, and international trade issues, supporting complex investigations and compliance-related litigation.

Alyssa has extensive experience advising on U.S. export controls, sanctions, and customs regulations, including matters involving the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and related federal trade laws. She assists with regulatory compliance assessments, government-facing matters, and the development and implementation of corporate compliance programs designed to address evolving international trade and sanctions requirements.

Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, Alyssa held senior roles in global trade compliance at a multinational manufacturer and practiced international trade law in Washington, D.C., representing clients in trade remedy proceedings and related litigation before federal courts and government agencies. Her background includes advising multinational organizations on risk management, regulatory strategy, and cross-border compliance issues affecting global operations.
