Alexander Corson

Alexander B. Corson

Senior Associate
Alexander Corson represents corporate policyholders in insurance coverage matters across a broad range of policy types, including management liability, directors and officers (D&O) liability, general liability, professional liability, employment practices liability (EPL), representations and warranties (R&W), commercial first-party property, business interruption, tax liability, and cyber insurance.

Alex brings a thorough understanding of insurance industry claims and underwriting processes to every matter. When coverage disputes require litigation, he develops targeted strategies designed to apply pressure on insurers and advance policyholders’ interests through motion practice and other advocacy. He has secured millions of dollars in insurance proceeds and fee-shifting awards for clients through that work.

Beyond contested matters, Alex advises clients on risk management decisions before claims arise. He guides businesses in selecting and procuring insurance products, drawing on his experience handling disputed claims and his relationships with brokerage firms that prioritize policyholder interests. He also conducts insurance policy audits to assess whether proposed policy language accurately reflects the risk management decisions clients made during the underwriting process.

Alex also maintains an active pro bono practice. His work in that area has included court-requested briefing on novel constitutional issues, the successful dismissal of a criminal matter, and the representation of multiple transgender individuals seeking court approval for a legal name change.
