OVERVIEW

Regardless of the type of case, Alex Petrik prides himself in providing candid advice for clients throughout each phase of litigation. He understands the importance of client satisfaction and is committed to efficient service in his representations.

Alex focuses his practice on assisting employers facing various employment litigation issues in federal and state courts. Specifically, he counsels and represents employers in a range of actions involving harassment, retaliation, discrimination, wrongful termination, and wage and hour claims.

He understands the nuances of helping clients document and present a strong case. His litigation experience includes serving as, while with a Michigan law firm, a special assistant attorney general representing the Michigan Department of Transportation in various litigation proceedings. For example, Alex litigated a contested eminent domain dispute regarding a large infrastructure project in Michigan. During the trial Alex worked diligently in drafting numerous motions that ultimately were successful for this client at the trial level (appeal pending).

Previously Alex worked for a large Midwest law firm , where he counseled insurers in complex and high-exposure insurance coverage issues related to defective products, asbestos, mold, directors and officers, construction defect, environmental contamination, class actions, and mass torts. He also assisted in virtually all aspects of coverage litigation, including e-discovery and the drafting of dispositive and responsive motions.

Alex gained experience early in his career as a law clerk for the Honorable Christopher M. Murray in the Michigan Court of Appeals. In that role, he was instrumental in the preparation of judicial opinions and bench memos for a vast array of civil and criminal cases.
