Spotlights

Travis Ortiz: I Am Barnes & Thornburg

I AM...

  • One of seven siblings (so I’m still fighting for your attention and affection)
  • Sporting a tattoo I was forced to get because I didn’t go with my dad and brother to see Georgia (finally!) win the national championship in Indianapolis this year
  • Anxious to speak to someone at ABC about ways to improve The Bachelor (shouldn’t it be Pete Davidson this year?)
  • Capable of bench pressing 315, I just choose not to
  • Learning to play the piano so that I can write my musical set at a law firm (first number: “Sounds Like a Tax Issue”)
  • Interested in hearing about your dreams or nightmares
  • Already nervous about the day I meet Tom Hanks and ask him to read lines from my favorite movie, Castaway
  • Always looking for ways to use a whiteboard after working as a teacher in Hong Kong for two years
  • Totally reliant on my colleague in the funds group, Maria Monte, when it comes to difficult legal drafting and life decisions
  • Hoping that one day the MARC, VRE, Amtrak and DC Metro lines are combined into a single coherent regional rail system

This profile appeared in the November 2022 edition of I Am Barnes & Thornburg.
