Emily Rojer Hurley: I Am Barnes & Thornburg

I AM...
- An adventurer. I love exploring new places, learning about history, and embracing local culture. I've lived in both Geneva, Switzerland and London, England.
- A proud mother to five- and three-year-old boys whose energy levels should be studied for science because they never stop moving
- A major animal lover of all stripes and sizes. My beagle mix, Lionel, is my favorite, but I also love llamas and spent last Mother's Day at a local llama farm.
- Happily married to my husband, Drew, who keeps our family well fed with his amazing cooking skills
- A voracious reader who has been in the same book club for the last eight years. We read a bit of everything, but historical fiction and science fiction are my favorite genres.
- The daughter of an immigrant and travel to my father's home country of Aruba every year or two—usually in the winter to escape the cold
- A native Minnesotan and think our state is vastly underrated! One of my favorite places in the world is the Boundary Waters Canoe Area on the U.S.-Canadian border.
- Always down to try new things. Recently my husband and I went to a place with 40-plus puzzle rooms with each room having a different physical, mental, or skilled challenge to figure out.
- A wine lover, especially bold, dry, red wines. My favorite wine regions include Rhone Valley, France, and Maipo Valley, Chile.
- A theater lover and have season tickets to Minneapolis' regional theater, the Guthrie. Next up: Little Women by Louisa May Alcott.
