Barnes & Thornburg Helps Pave Way for New Arizona Hospital

Construction Law Blog
Barnes & Thornburg LLP represented investment banking firm Colliers Securities LLC (Colliers) in a $85 million financing for the construction of a new community hospital in San Luis, Arizona, and to also refinance certain indebtedness of Regional Center for Health Inc. (RCBH).

Colliers provided the financing to RCBH, which is a nonprofit based in southwest Arizona that is focused on local healthcare issues. Construction of the San Luis Hospital “Border Health Medical Campus” is scheduled to be completed in 2028.

The new hospital will feature 16 beds and will also have an emergency department, diagnostic services and a pharmacy. The hospital will expand the services already provided by RCBH at the adjacent San Luis Medical Mall.

Headquartered in Minneapolis, Minn., Colliers offers a variety of public finance products and services to borrowers and investors nationwide, including rural healthcare financing. The Colliers team on this financing was led by Kurt Apfelbacher and Michael Ward.

The Barnes & Thornburg team on this financing was led by partner Benjamin Johnson, with assistance from associate Andy Keyes and paralegals Barbara Skaar and Leslie Lundeen.
