Barnes & Thornburg’s Summer Program Welcomes 47 Law Students

Barnes & Thornburg has welcomed 47 law students to its summer program, with participants joining teams across 18 offices nationwide for an immersive summer of client work, mentorship and cross-office collaboration.
Barnes & Thornburg summer associates and law clerks work directly with attorneys on client matters across a variety of practice areas while gaining insight into the firm’s collaborative approach to client service. Students participate in skills training, professional development programming, networking events and pro bono initiatives designed to build meaningful relationships and develop practical legal experience.
“Our summer program provides students with meaningful exposure to practicing law while helping them build lasting relationships across the firm,” said Sarah Evenson, Director of Law School Programs at Barnes & Thornburg. “We’re excited to welcome this talented group and look forward to the perspectives and energy they will bring to the firm this summer.”
By enabling students to work across practice areas and offices, the summer program helps students explore their interests while developing practical skills and professional relationships that can shape their careers long after the summer ends.
As Barnes & Thornburg continues to grow nationally, the firm remains committed to investing in the next generation of legal talent through mentorship, meaningful work opportunities and a culture centered on collaboration and connection.
“We want our summer class to feel supported, challenged and included from day one,” said partner and National Law Student Recruiting Chair David Durm. “The relationships formed during the summer often become the foundation for long-term careers at the firm.”
