Barnes & Thornburg Selects Carrie Raver as Office Managing Partner in Fort Wayne, Indiana

On the heels of Barnes & Thornburg celebrating 40 years in Fort Wayne, the firm announced today that Carrie Raver has been selected as the new managing partner of the Fort Wayne, Ind., office and elected to the firmwide Management Committee.

Raver succeeds Randy Brown, who is planning to retire at the end of 2027 after joining the firm in 1990. Brown has led the Fort Wayne office since 2011. Raver joined the firm in 2005 as a litigation associate and was promoted to partner in 2009. She served as co-chair of the Insurance Recovery practice from 2021 to 2026.

“Carrie is an outstanding leader who has gained invaluable experience as co-chair of our Insurance Recovery practice,” said Firm Managing Partner Andrew J. Detherage. “During her 20-plus years at Barnes & Thornburg, Carrie has demonstrated a collaborative spirit and a strong understanding of what makes the Fort Wayne office and our firm special. I look forward to the ideas, perspectives and energy that she will bring to her new leadership role.”

Established in 1986, Barnes & Thornburg’s Fort Wayne office assists businesses with labor and employment, corporate, high-stakes litigation and intellectual property needs. In addition, the office provides comprehensive legal services in mergers and acquisitions, personal and corporate taxation, probate and estate planning, banking, insolvency and restructuring, real estate, and insurance recovery. In 2016, the office relocated to a 17,000-square-foot space at the Ash Skyline Plaza in downtown Fort Wayne to strengthen its roots to the community.

“It’s an honor to be entrusted with such a significant leadership responsibility,” Raver said. “Fort Wayne has been a cornerstone of our platform for four decades, serving Fortune 500 companies, entrepreneurs and civic and charitable organizations. Randy has helped continue the office’s legacy during his long tenure. I look forward to building on that legacy with a relentless focus on client service, talent management and community relations.”

Raver represents clients in high-stakes complex commercial litigation across the country. As a trial attorney with more than two decades of experience, she has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars for corporate policyholders in insurance policy enforcement actions. She also litigated one of the few court cases involving the scope of coverage available under a cyber insurance policy.
