Brian McGinnis was featured in an Indiana Lawyer article, “Bill aims to protect data privacy: Law looks for balance between rights of consumers, businesses,” regarding the passage of Indiana’s new comprehensive consumer data protection law. Indiana recently became the seventh state to pass such a law, joining others like California and Virginia whose laws are already in effect. Senate Enrolled Act 5 was enacted to provide Indiana consumers new rights to protect their privacy, and new protections against data breaches and cybersecurity issues; it goes into effect Jan. 1, 2026.
