Barnes & Thornburg Signs Lease at Broadwest, Doubling Office Space in Nashville to Accommodate Future Growth

NASHVILLE – Barnes & Thornburg announced today that it has signed a lease for its Nashville office, which opened in May of 2023 with the addition of five partners. Located at 1600 West End Avenue, the Nashville team will occupy the entire 8th floor of the Broadwest office tower. The space is nearly 26,000 square feet, more than double their current location. The lease begins June 1, 2024.

The new office will provide Barnes & Thornburg attorneys and business professionals opportunities for collaboration and flexibility with a warm modern space, interior floor-to-ceiling windows, large and breakout conference rooms, individual and multi-person work stations, an open-concept kitchen complete with cold brew and beverage taps, and banquette. The space was designed by ASD | SKY and constructed by DWC Construction, Inc.

“Since the firm’s entrance into Nashville earlier this year, we have remained committed to expanding our presence in the region, establishing our local footprint, and fostering strong relationships throughout the city,” said Jay Knight, partner-in-charge of the firm’s Nashville office. “The new Broadwest office tower will further enable us to achieve those objectives. We are excited to work alongside the talented teams at ASD | SKY and DWC Construction, Inc. to create an office that reflects our culture, accommodates our future growth, and offers an attractive and welcoming space for our clients, attorneys, and business professionals.”

The Broadwest office tower, completed in 2021, features 14-foot floor-to-floor ceilings with 10.5-foot floor-to-ceiling vision glass, an upgraded construction design focused on efficiency, an outdoor office tenant amenity space, and a 1.5-acre plaza for gatherings and events. The location offers easy access to restaurants, retail, entertainment, and sports venues.

“We are pleased Barnes & Thornburg has decided to become part of the Broadwest community,” said vice president of Propst Development, LLC Ben Hughey. “The National Law Journal ranked the firm as the 75th largest law firm in the United States in 2023. With 23 offices across the U.S., Barnes & Thornburg is an outstanding firm, and we are thrilled to work with them in creating a long-term home for their continued growth in the Nashville market.”

Savills represented the firm in lease negotiations. Jones Lang LaSalle were office leasing agents for Broadwest.

The firm will remain in its current location at 827 19th Avenue until June 1, 2024.

With more than 800 attorneys and other legal professionals, Barnes & Thornburg is one of the largest law firms in the country. The firm serves clients worldwide from offices in Atlanta, Boston, California, Chicago, Delaware, Indiana, Michigan, Minneapolis, Nashville, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Philadelphia, Raleigh, Salt Lake City, South Florida, Texas, and Washington, D.C.
