ATLANTA – Legal publication Daily Report has recognized Barnes & Thornburg attorneys James J. Leonard and Eric S. Fisher in its annual Georgia Legal Awards list for 2022. Leonard is a recipient of a Lifetime Achievers award, while Fisher is a finalist for the 2022 Attorney of the Year award.
The Attorney of the Year award and recognition of Leonard’s lifetime achievement will be celebrated at a June 23 event to honor “distinguished members of the Georgia legal community.”

Leonard, an insurance recovery counselor and litigator, is one of eight lawyers in the state who received the Lifetime Achievers award. With a practice spanning 40 years, Leonard has dedicated his career to maximizing client coverage and recovery to make sure clients receive the full benefit of their insurance coverage investments. His legal career is also marked by his many pro bono efforts and advocacy of diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
Fisher and two other lawyers are finalists for the Attorney of the Year award, which honors a Georgia lawyer who had the biggest impact on the law or the Georgia legal community as they advance the cause of the justice.
With deep experience in federal and state trial and appellate courts, as well as with various alternative dispute resolution proceedings, Fisher represents companies in a wide variety of cases, including commercial, construction, employment, and real estate matters.
