Barnes & Thornburg Lawyers, Administrator Receive Indiana Lawyer Leadership in Law Awards

The Indiana Lawyer has named Barnes & Thornburg attorneys Chisara Ezie-Boncoeur and Lauren Nottoli Schwabe as Up and Coming Lawyers and South Bend office administrator Sarah Quinn Kuhny as a Legal Support Star as part of its annual Leadership in Law Awards.

The Indiana Lawyer announced the awards during a June 1 event in Indianapolis and the honorees will also be featured in an upcoming edition of the publication.

Ezie-Boncoeur is an of counsel attorney in the firm’s South Bend office. A litigator and trial lawyer, she represents clients who operate in a variety of industries, applying the law to their unique business needs. She engages in virtually all phases of complex commercial litigation and alternative dispute resolution, and has represented individuals and companies as plaintiff and defense counsel.

Outside of her legal practice, Ezie-Boncoeur is part of Barnes & Thornburg’s internship program with the South Bend Community School Corporation, which provides career development and mentoring to high school students. She also is regional chair for the Cornell Black Lawyers Alumni Network and a member of the Cornell Alumni Admissions Ambassador Network.

Like Ezie-Boncoeur, Schwabe is a member of the firm’s Litigation Department; she works in the firm’s Indianapolis office. Schwabe handles a range of commercial litigation cases, product liability and e-discovery matters.

Schwabe is deeply involved in the community, serving as a board member of Girls on the Run of Central Indiana and recently finished a term as marketing vice president for Junior League of Indianapolis. She also is a former chapter president and alumnae volunteer for Gamma Phi Beta.

Kuhny, the recipient of the Legal Support Star, began her career as a paralegal and then as a lawyer in the firm’s South Bend office. She moved into the role of office administrator for the South Bend office and firmwide legal personnel-administration coordinator. During her time as office administrator, she coordinated the firm’s associate mentoring program and plays a key role in facilitating the current sponsorship program.

Kuhny is a member of the National Association for Law Placement (NALP) and the Professional Development Consortium (PDC) and is on the PDC’s programming committee.

With more than 700 attorneys and other legal professionals, Barnes & Thornburg is one of the largest law firms in the country. The firm serves clients worldwide from offices in Atlanta, Boston, California, Chicago, Delaware, Indiana, Michigan, Minneapolis, New York, Ohio, Raleigh, Salt Lake City, Texas and Washington, D.C.
