Crain’s Chicago Business Names Barnes & Thornburg to ‘2021 Best Places to Work’ List

CHICAGO - Crain’s Chicago Business has named Barnes & Thornburg as one of the “2021 Best Places to Work in Chicago.” With more than 200 employees in its Chicago office, the firm is one of only a handful of law firms among the 100 finalists. The final rankings will be announced by Crain’s on April 8 and 9.

Barnes & Thornburg’s Chicago office was recognized by Crain’s as the result of a survey of employees and of an employer questionnaire. Crain’s established the program to identify and recognize the area’s best employers and to provide organizations with valuable employee feedback.

“We appreciate receiving this ‘Best Places to Work in Chicago’ honor because it validates the kind of environment we seek to build in our workplace when supporting the success of our clients,” said Michael A. Carrillo, managing partner of the firm’s Chicago office, which opened in 1994. “We have a great deal of pride in what we have built here in Chicago and look forward to many more years of continued success.”

The survey sought answers from employees about company policies, culture, practices, benefits and demographics, and also involved a survey of employers. The 2021 Best Places to Work in Chicago program was open to all publicly or privately held organizations, either for-profit or not-for-profit, with more than 25 employees.

With more than 700 attorneys and other legal professionals, Barnes & Thornburg is one of the largest law firms in the country. The firm serves clients worldwide from offices in Atlanta, California, Chicago, Delaware, Indiana, Michigan, Minneapolis, New York, Ohio, Raleigh, Salt Lake City, Texas and Washington, D.C.
