BT ValueWorks named 2021 Legal Technology Trailblazer by National Law Journal

INDIANAPOLIS – BT ValueWorks, Barnes & Thornburg’s suite of legal operations solutions, has been named to the National Law Journal’s annual list of Legal Technology Trailblazers. The list recognizes tools and solutions that are changing the way law firms and legal departments operate.

Through its suite of data analytics, alternative fee arrangements, scope of work documents, legal project management (LPM) and practice innovation products, BT ValueWorks ensures value, efficiency and predictability to the legal services the firm provides. With technology’s support, BT ValueWorks also fosters heightened collaboration among attorneys, in-house legal operations professionals and law firm professionals.

“Today’s steep budgetary pressures mean that in-house legal departments need transparent, cost-efficient, predictable and agile outside counsel more than ever,” said Jared Applegate Barnes & Thornburg’s Chief Legal Operations Officer and co-creator of BT ValueWorks. “In short, they need true and reliable partners – and with BT ValueWorks, that’s what they get.”

For instance, BT ValueWorks products offer more ‘frictionless’ client experiences and automation around the delivery of legal services. BT ValueWorks has helped Barnes & Thornburg attorneys manage more than 2,000 budgets for over $100 million in active matters; and enhanced collaboration on a wide range of litigation and transactional matters.

With more than 700 attorneys and other legal professionals, Barnes & Thornburg is one of the largest law firms in the country. The firm serves clients worldwide from offices in Atlanta, California, Chicago, Delaware, Indiana, Michigan, Minneapolis, New York, Ohio, Raleigh, Salt Lake City, Texas and Washington, D.C.
