MINNEAPOLIS – Barnes & Thornburg is proud to announce that associate Autumn C. Gear has been recognized as an Up & Coming Attorney by Minnesota Lawyer. Minnesota Lawyer annually recognizes attorneys who are off to a fast start in the first decade of their legal careers.

Gear was recognized for her work on behalf of clients and on pro bono matters, along with her commitment to the local legal community. Her practice focuses on civil litigation matters for clients from a range of industries.

Active in the community, Gear provides pro bono legal advice to low-income tenants through the Volunteer Lawyers Network and chairs the organization’s Governance Committee as a member of its board of directors.  She has also argued a case in front of the Minnesota Court of Appeals in partnership with the Indian Child Welfare Act Law Center.

Gear is a member of several legal associations, including Minnesota Women Lawyers (MWL) and the Minnesota Association of Black Lawyers, and is part of the Emerging Leaders Group with Twin Cities Diversity in Practice. She currently serves on MWL’s Signature Events Committee, where she played a key role in relaunching MWL’s Leadership Institute and serves as co-chair of MWL’s Legal Athletes Affinity Group.
