Silent Cyber: Viewing Cyber as a Peril

On April 30, Scott Godes of the Washington, D.C., office presented “Silent Cyber: Viewing Cyber as a Peril,” at the RIMS 2019 Conference in Boston. The session examined insurance coverage that included elements of cyber risk. It also took a look at how cyber risks have been added to other policies – via endorsements with sublimits that include bodily injury and property damage that arise from nonphysical (i.e., cyber) perils – and where they can be purchased. The session also examined how courts struggle to consistently interpret the endorsements, and the next market moves.
