Real Estate: Changing Times Create Opportunistic Investing Strategies

For the 4th Annual Family Chateaux Summit on April 24-26, at which over 200 family offices were represented, Sal LaViña of the Los Angeles office led a panel on “Real Estate Opportunity Zones,” was a panelist discussing “Real Estate: Changing Times Create Opportunistic Investing Strategies,” and was a last-minute pinch hitter moderator for “Future Technology in Real Estate and Tokenization of Real World Assets.” Jim Robinson of the Atlanta office moderated a panel entitled “Technology Advancements Creating Efficiencies for Family Offices.” Barnes & Thornburg was one of the event sponsors, and the summit took place over three days at the Westlake Four Seasons and the Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, California. Several clients of the firm attended or participated on panels, and Sal and Jim made some valuable new connections, including KISS founder and serial entrepreneur Gene Simmons.
