On June 22, 2020, the Administration issued a presidential proclamation, “Suspension of Entry of Immigrants and Nonimmigrants who Present a Risk to the United States Labor Market During the Economic Recovery Following the 2019 Novel Coronavirus Outbreak,” extending the duration of a previously issued suspension of immigrant visas and creating a new suspension of non-immigrant visas. The new proclamation goes into effect on June 24, 2020, and extends the duration of the bar on immigrant visas through December 31, 2020 with potential extensions thereafter and created a new bar for those seeking to enter the U.S. in the H-1B, H-2B, J, and L nonimmigrant visa categories, along with their family members.

The Barnes & Thornburg immigration team will discuss the hot issues with the proclamation and what it means to you and your employer.

1.0 hour CLE credit pending. This program is valid for 1.0 PDCs for the SHRM-CP® or SHRM-SCP®.
