Top Five Issues Facing Gig Economy Workers

Terese Connolly spoke on the panel, “Top Five Issues Facing Gig Economy Workers,” at the American Bar Association National Symposium on Technology in Labor and Employment Law at the Chicago-Kent College of Law in Chicago. The panel explored the top issues facing workers in the gig economy, such as state-level legislative action, wage and hour issues, union and union-like organizing efforts, health and safety problems in the industry, conflicts that arise when gig workers work alongside bargaining unit members in collectively bargained retail shops and more. In addition to Terese, the panel included John Durkalski from Butsavage & Durkalski and Bradley Manewith from Lichten & Liss-Riordan.
