The firm was an exclusive legal sponsor for the 2023 HR Indiana Annual Conference at the JW Marriott in downtown Indianapolis. It is one of the largest regional human resources conferences in the U.S. The sessions and workshops were well-attended and delivered insights into many of the most important topics in human resources. Ken Yerkes presented a keynote on new challenges for employers in 2023 and beyond. David Pryzbylski spoke on “Parting Ways: The Evolving Legal Landscape of Employee Severance Agreements and New Landmines to Avoid.” Michael Nader spoke on “Navigating the Minefield Between Benefits and HR” and Christina Janice presented on “The Long, Hot Summer Continues: 2023 Trends in Human Resources Investigations.” During workshops, Michael Durham spoke on “I-9 Best Practices and Common Mistakes to Avoid”; Mark Kittaka’s topic was “OSHA Recent Developments”; Benjamin Perry and Christopher Rubey spoke on “Turning Off Your Onboarding Mistakes”; and Brian McGinnis and Madeline San Jose’s presentation was “Incident Response: The HR Playbook.”
