Do labor and employment legal issues keep you up at night?
Employers of all sizes list labor and employment law compliance as one of their biggest concerns – especially with more state and local governments passing new employment laws.
To help HR and other leaders stay informed of ever-changing rules and regulations, reduce risks, and deliver practical solutions, Barnes & Thornburg and Beacon Health System have partnered for Roundtables for Charity.
On April 18 in Elkhart and on April 24 in South Bend, Janilyn Daub, Jeanine Gozdecki and Mike Palmer from Barnes & Thornburg will lead a discussion about recent developments, including
- New EEOC data reporting rule
- DOL’s new proposed overtime exemption rule
- Growing legalization of marijuana
- New state and local laws now requiring paid leave
- New state and local laws prohibiting applicant salary history inquiries
- OSHA’s recent workplace violence citation
- NLRB’s recent advice about common handbook policies
- A growing trend of states pushing back against non-compete agreements
- Other hot topics
We are asking for a $50 donation from each attendee to support two of our speakers’ commitments to our community: Girls & Boys Club and the YWCA/Safe Haven.
Mike Palmer is participating in the St. Joseph County Boy & Girl Club’s largest annual fundraiser as a “Great Big Kid.” Proceeds from the South Bend Roundtable will count as votes for Mike’s Great Big Kid campaign.
Jeanine Gozdecki is Chair of the YWCA Board of Directors. Proceeds from the Elkhart Roundtable will support the YWCA/Safe Haven in Elkhart County.
Checks should be made payable to the Boys & Girls Club of St. Joseph County or Safe Haven/YWCA of North Central Indiana Inc. We also hope to be able to collect donations electronically at each venue.
1.5 hours CLE and HRCI credits pending. This program is valid for 1.5 PDCs for the SHRM-CP® or SHRM-SCP®
