What: 2013 American Bar Association Forum on the Entertainment and Sports Industries Annual Meeting

When: Friday, Oct. 4, 2013

Where: The Ritz-Carlton, New York, Battery Park

Steve Weizenecker, a partner in the Atlanta office of Barnes & Thornburg LLP and a member of the firm's Corporate Department and Entertainment and Music Practice Group, is slated to join a panel of speakers who will discuss "Money Without Borders: The International Tax Considerations for Sports, Media and Talent" at the 2013 American Bar Association Forum on the Entertainment and Sports Industries Annual Meeting.

The panel discussion will take place on Oct. 4, 2013 from 2 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. ET.

Panel Description: In this global economy, especially for the entertainment and sports industries, clients no longer do business in one state or country. The effect of this more global exposure is that more clients have tax obligations in multiple jurisdictions. This panel assembles a team of experts, including lawyers and accountants, who can speak to the international tax considerations for sports, media, and music and film talent. The topics discussed will include transfer pricing issues related to moving income producing assets across borders, an in –house perspective dealing with global taxation, forum shopping for tax avoidance and the impact on net profit and cash-flow for clients with taxation in multiple jurisdictions.
