Mission Statement: The BT Foundation is dedicated to ensuring that all individuals in the communities we serve, regardless of background, orientation, or other inherent characteristics, have access to equitable resources and opportunities to thrive.

We at Barnes & Thornburg are committed to promoting inclusion both locally and nationally. Ensuring that everyone, regardless of background, has what they need to fairly compete and succeed is central to who we are.

We recognize that true progress in removing unfair barriers, closing opportunity gaps, and enabling people of all identities and backgrounds to reach their fullest potential requires RELENTLESS commitment and deliberate investment in the geographies we serve.

Barnes & Thornburg LLP established the BT Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, to promote inclusion and provide opportunities for all individuals, regardless of background, orientation, or other inherent characteristics, to thrive. The foundation began with an initial $75,000 in personal commitments from firm leadership and has continued to raise funds from Barnes & Thornburg team members, totaling over $1.6 million dollars to date. These funds have been awarded in grants of $50,000 each to organizations based in communities where the firm has offices.

Making a Difference

Those funds have been earmarked to support nonprofit organizations in the communities in which we have offices that work hard to ensure that all individuals have access to equitable resources and opportunities to thrive. Their important missions and powerful triumphs make the world a better place.

Barnes & Thornburg also pledges to continue devoting sweat equity to these and other fine organizations. We are proud of the work we do together and the spirit in which we conduct that work. But we are so much better together. Please stay tuned for ways to support the BT Foundation.
