Michael Rosiello

Of Counsel (Retired)

Michael Rosiello is of counsel (retired) in Barnes & Thornburg, resident in the Indianapolis office where he has served as a member of the Litigation Department and of the Commercial Litigation Practice Group, which he co-chaired from 2009 to 2012. He concentrated his practice on commercial disputes, including contracts, sale of goods, trade secret and class action issues. Michael also represented clients in trust and probate litigation. He worked on pretrial proceedings, trials and appeals in both state and federal courts.

OVERVIEW

Michael Rosiello is of counsel (retired) in Barnes & Thornburg, resident in the Indianapolis office where he has served as a member of the Litigation Department and of the Commercial Litigation Practice Group, which he co-chaired from 2009 to 2012. He concentrated his practice on commercial disputes, including contracts, sale of goods, trade secret and class action issues. Michael also represented clients in trust and probate litigation. He worked on pretrial proceedings, trials and appeals in both state and federal courts.

In addition, Michael's practice included drafting effective documents designed to avoid litigation, including sale-of-goods forms such as warranties, disclaimers, and remedy limitations and labor agreements such as trade secret agreements and covenants not to compete.

From 2014 through 2018, Michael served as an adjunct professor at the Indiana University Maurer School of law, teaching pretrial litigation and litigation drafting. From 1998 through 2012, Michael lectured on contracts and sales for the Indianapolis Bar Association Bar Review Course. He currently lectures on Indiana procedure for that course. He has served on the faculty of the Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum's (ICLEF) Trial Advocacy Skills College for more than 15 years.

In 2014, Michael co-chaired the ICLEF annual program on federal civil procedure. He has co-authored three Indiana Law Review articles on recent developments in Indiana law. He was a founding master in the Sagamore American Inn of Court and has participated in the preparation of two national award-winning programs.

Michael joined Barnes & Thornburg LLP in 1976 and became a partner in 1983.
