The use of 3D printing is revolutionizing healthcare on many levels and presenting a new set of engineering challenges which will unlock the full potential of the technology. Recent advances have enabled 3D printing of biocompatible materials, cells and supporting components into complex 3D functional living tissues. It can be applied to regenerative medicine to address the need for tissues and organs suitable for transplantation and the orthopedic industry is using the technology to create custom replacement joints and prosthetics. Please join us as we learn more about 3D printing technology, its applications and hear how it is being used today to advance cardiopulmonary research.
