Barnes & Thornburg's Roscoe Howard Receives National Trial Advocacy College Award

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Trial Advocacy College at the University of Virginia School of Law has honored Barnes & Thornburg partner Roscoe C. Howard, Jr. with the William J. Brennan, Jr. Award. Howard was recognized for his achievements as a trial lawyer and his contributions as a member of the faculty and to the legal profession.

Howard, who is managing partner of the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, was one of three individuals honored at the 39th Annual National Trial Advocacy program on Jan. 4. The college established the award in 1987 in honor of U.S. Supreme Court Justice William Brennan.

Honorees are recognized for their “outstanding skills as trial lawyers and members of the judiciary and for their invaluable contributions to the Trial Advocacy College and to the legal profession.” It is a premier trial advocacy program for lawyers held each year at the law school.

Howard has been a member of the Trial Advocacy College legal faculty for 11 years; he is an alumnus of the University of Virginia School of Law. He focuses his legal practice at Barnes & Thornburg on white collar criminal matters, criminal and civil litigation, corporate compliance and ethics.

With more than 600 attorneys and other legal professionals, Barnes & Thornburg is one of the largest law firms in the country. The firm serves clients worldwide from offices in Atlanta, California, Chicago, Delaware, Indiana, Michigan, Minneapolis, Ohio, Raleigh, Salt Lake City, Texas and Washington, D.C.
