Who should attend? All those responsible for or interested in dealing with the legal, human resources, and risk management issues associated with implementing any new technology within their organization will find this workshop valuable.

Bring Your Own Device: What Are the Risks for Employers?
Every employer is facing the impact of new technology and technology use in the workplace. Many employers have embraced –or at least tacitly fostered – a Bring Your Own Device to work environment and are now seeing the results, some good, some troubling. If you permit employees to access your network, including your confidential material, research and development information, and data, how can you best protect the company’s interests and information while allowing employees the freedom to use their own mobile devices? We will discuss the issues confronting employers in this rapidly developing area and examine some best practices for protecting employers.

"We Know Where You Are." May Employers Use GPS to Track Employer Location and Productivity?
A significant percentage of our employees carry iPhones or Androids, all of which contain GPS tracking chips that divulge where the phones are and where they may be headed. Issues are being raised as to whether the tracking of employees, company equipment and employee productivity is an appropriate use of this technology. What are the legal issues presented? The speakers will discuss the legal ramifications of employee monitoring.

"Did You Hear About...?" Social Media Update: After all of the Activity, What are the Best Practices?
As we have reported before, the NLRB has made the regulation of social media policies and practices one of its central concerns. We’ll provide an update on this issue and offer social media best practices from both the legal and risk management perspectives.
