Michael Cavallaro and Nick Manty Honored by Minnesota Lawyer

MINNEAPOLIS – Barnes & Thornburg is pleased to announce that partner Michael Cavallaro and marketing manager Nick Manty have been recognized by Minnesota Lawyer for their professional accomplishments and contributions to the local legal community.

“Since we opened the Minneapolis office 10 years ago, we have fostered Barnes & Thornburg’s commitment to having an impact on the larger business and legal community,” said Connie Lahn, managing partner of the Minneapolis office. “This is exemplified by these individuals who have made lasting contributions to both the firm and the Minneapolis community.”

Michael Cavallaro, who practices as a partner in creditor’s rights, restructuring and bankruptcy, was selected as a 2019 Up and Coming Attorney. He is recognized for the impressive strides made in the first decade of his career.

In the first decade of his practice, Cavallaro has established himself as a trusted adviser to some of the largest banks and financial institutions in the country. Prior to his work at Barnes & Thornburg, Cavallaro served as in-house counsel at U.S. Bank and built up a law practice with a colleague advising financial institutions. He is the current chair of the American Bar Association Bankruptcy and Loan Workout Section and is also committed to providing pro bono services in Minneapolis. He is the office’s partner in charge of developing and coordinating initiatives with various organizations throughout the state and engages firm attorneys and staff in those efforts.

Nick Manty, the Minneapolis office’s marketing manager, was recognized as one of Minnesota Lawyer’s Unsung Legal Heroes. Manty and his fellow honorees were recognized for their talent and dedication in the legal support profession.

Manty is passionate about giving back and making a difference in the Minneapolis/St. Paul legal community. He serves as the communications director for the Association of Legal Administrators Minnesota (ALAMN), where he led the final stages of launching a new website and developed a communications strategy for the chapter. Manty also implemented a marketing manager roundtable, giving those in the profession a platform to come together and find solutions to common challenges, improve their knowledge and skills, and enhance their professional networks.
Manty and Cavallaro will be recognized for their accomplishments at a luncheon hosted by Minnesota Lawyer at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis on Sept. 11, 2019.

With more than 600 attorneys and other legal professionals, Barnes & Thornburg is one of the largest law firms in the country. The firm serves clients worldwide from offices in Atlanta, California, Chicago, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Michigan, Minneapolis, Ohio, Texas and Washington, D.C.
