Barnes & Thornburg Attorneys Named to PLAC National Leadership Positions

Michael C. Zogby and Kaitlyn E. Stone attended the Product Liability Advisory Council (PLAC) annual meeting October 19-21, 2022, in Park City, Utah. At the meeting, Zogby was elected to the PLAC board of directors for a three-year term starting on Jan. 1, 2023, and he also serves on the membership committee. Stone co-chaired and emceed the 2022 annual meeting, and helped to organize the PLAC future leaders program.  Stone and Zogby also co-chaired PLAC’s 2022 Spring Conference.

PLAC is a not-for-profit association of product manufacturers, suppliers, retailers, and select regulatory, litigation and appellate professionals who work to shape the common law of product liability, provide guidance on changing regulations, and strategically help corporations manage risk throughout the entire product life cycle. PLAC is a unique resource for companies who must defend their products’ integrity and their companies’ reputation.

Zogby’s trial and crisis management practice includes the defense of global clients in highly regulated industries in complex litigation, mass tort, intellectual property, data privacy, and product liability actions filed by consumer and government parties, as well as cross-border challenges in Japan and Europe. He serves as a trustee of the Trial Attorneys of America and the Trial Attorneys of New Jersey, is an active member of the International Association of Defense Counsel and The Sedona Conference, and is on the faculty of the National Trial Advocacy College of the University of Virginia School of Law.

Stone counsels major pharmaceutical, medical device, and health and life sciences companies in product liability and mass tort matters. Her product liability experience is focused on prescription medications, medical devices and consumer goods. Her practice primarily involves multidistrict litigation and coordinated state proceedings. Stone also has experience advocating for clients in complex business, commercial, and real estate litigation. She has defended clients in intellectual property, insurance defense, business tort, redevelopment, environmental and public contract disputes and class actions.  She serves on the board of trustees for the Volunteer Lawyers for Justice.
