It's a Small World: What to Watch For When Companies in the European Union and European Free Trade Area Invest in the United States
The world is small and seemingly getting smaller, but the opportunities for business expansion and investment are big and getting bigger. Barnes & Thornburg’s annual client event will combine a topic of interest with networking opportunities – a convenient way to make your own world seem a little smaller. This year’s topic will focus on key trade issues for U.S. companies that are doing or want to do business in the European Union (EU) and the issues EU companies face when exploring investment prospects in the U.S.
Discussion will feature speakers from the U.S. government and from EU member countries, including:
- Damien Levie - Head of the Trade and Agriculture Section of the European Union Delegation in Washington, D.C.
- Goran Lithell - Deputy Chief of Mission for the Embassy of Sweden in Washington, D.C.
- Robert D. Manogue - Director, Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs, U.S. Department of State
- Steve Haro - Nominee for Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs, U.S. Department of Commerce
