What: New Economy New Rules Series - "Indiana Public Policy Impacting Technology Businesses"

Event Duration: 8 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. (ET) | 8 a.m.: Registration and continental breakfast | 8:30 a.m.-9:30 a.m.: Presentation

Program Description: Three bills currently moving through the Indiana General Assembly would ultimately have a positive impact on Indiana’s tech sector. These bills address critical industry needs like:

  1. Aligning workforce development efforts with opportunity gaps,
  2. Creating a new tax incentive for capital investments, and
  3. Offering regions more freedom to educate students for the kinds of specific high-tech jobs available in their areas.

The new laws coupled with existing public policy are key contributors to the business climate in Indiana, which by many accounts – including national economic development magazines – ranks at the top in the Midwest and in the top 10 nationwide.

Will public policy in Indiana remain favorable to technology in the future compared to other states? In what areas could Indiana do more to attract technology jobs and encourage the growth of high-tech Hoosier startups?

Join us on April 5, 2013, for a panel discussion with special legislative and government guest speakers who will talk about the possible impact of current and future legislation on technology businesses, as well as the role you can play as an Indiana business professional.

Speakers: Rep. Steve Braun (Ind.).
