Barnes & Thornburg Welcomes New Attorneys in Four Offices

Barnes & Thornburg has added intellectual property and litigation attorneys to its Dallas, Indianapolis, Los Angeles and New York offices. 

An associate in the Los Angeles office, Ryan H. Chan’s practice focuses on the defense of pharmaceutical, medical device and consumer product litigation. Chan has defended companies in a broad range of commercial and product liability litigation matters, particularly Fortune 500 companies in consumer class actions, multi-district litigations, coordinated proceedings, and product liability cases in federal and state courts nationwide. He earned his J.D. from Emory University School of Law in 2018 and his B.A. from the University of California, Irvine in 2014.

Reginald D. Cloyd III, an associate in the Indianapolis office, focuses his practice on commercial litigation and class action defense. Cloyd represents corporate clients in complex contract actions, product liability matters, business torts, bankruptcy adversary proceedings, real estate litigation and data breach litigation. He earned his J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law in 2015 and his B.S. from McKendree University in 2011.

Of counsel in the Indianapolis office, Christopher Greisl works with Indiana cities, towns and counties on a wide variety of business matters. Additionally, he represents state government agencies, advising on a wide variety of issues. He earned his J.D. from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2011 and his B.A. from Wabash College in 2007.

Chloé Salome Margulis, an associate in the New York office, focuses her practice on patent prosecution and counseling in the fields of computer science, software, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, cryptocurrency and blockchain, cybersecurity, mobile devices, smart home, Internet of Things (IoT), mechanical devices, electrical technology, and other computer hardware and technology. She also counsels clients on data privacy issues. Margulis earned her J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2020 and her B.S. in computer science from Long Island University Honors College in 2017.

Scott Teakell, of counsel in the Dallas office, focuses his practice on intellectual property procurement and general intellectual property counseling. Teakell represents clients in the energy, oil and gas, life sciences and manufacturing industries. He earned his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in 2012, his M.S. from The University of Texas Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences in 2007 and his B.S. in chemistry and biology from Southwestern University in 2004.
