Weizenecker Named Governing Committee Member for ABA Forum on Entertainment & Sports Industries

ATLANTA – The American Bar Association’s Forum on Entertainment & Sports Industries has unanimously elected Barnes & Thornburg partner Stephen G. Weizenecker as Member at Large of its Governing Committee. 

A member of the firm’s national Entertainment, Media and Sports Practice Group, Weizenecker has a long history of involvement with the leadership of the Forum, most recently serving as chair of the Motion Picture, Television, Cable and Radio division and past editor-in-chief of the Forum’s publication, The Entertainment Sports Lawyer.  

Weizenecker counsels film, television and videogame clients on production incentives around the world and financing for various projects. As an active and recognized industry leader in the Atlanta entertainment community, he has worked with numerous jurisdictions on developing or improving their economic incentives for the entertainment industry. He serves in several non-profit organizations including serving as member of the Atlanta Film Festival’s Board of Directors. He is also vice-chair of the Georgia Governor’s Advisory Commission on Film, Music and Digital Entertainment and serves on the Department of Revenue Film Tax Credit Advisory Committee. He has been lauded for his work in the entertainment and government affairs industry including be recognized for many years in Variety’s Legal  Impact Report, Dealmakers Impact Report and Legal Elite New York, in Georgia Trend’s Legal Elite List, as one of the Best Lawyers in America, and as James Magazine’s Georgia Top Lobbyist.
