On Earth Day, Charlie Denton of the Grand Rapids office coordinated and moderated, for the 16th consecutive year, the Michigan Chamber of Commerce's Annual Environmental Issues Forum in Lansing. Presenters at the full-day conference on April 22 included the director of Michigan Department of Environmental Quality; the deputy legal counsel and senior policy advisor to Governor Snyder; and various environmental consultants and government affairs representatives of the chamber. Don Lawless of the Grand Rapids office reviewed OSHA/MIOSHA updates, Joel Bowers of the South Bend office gave a Michigan air update including Boiler MACT and Clean Air Act Enforcement, and Charlie presented on whistleblowers and release reporting and toxic release inventory updates. There were more than 40 attendees at the forum including environmental, health and safety managers of manufacturers, utilities and other Michigan businesses.
