Crain’s Chicago Business Names Paula Cozzi Goedert to Its ‘Notable Women in Law’ List

Chicago – Crain’s Chicago Business has named Barnes & Thornburg attorney Paula Cozzi Goedert to its “Notable Women in Law” list, which appears in the publication’s print edition as well as online. The annual list underscores “the stories, separately and collectively, that brilliantly illustrate the sheer power of women in law.”

Goedert, who is chair of Barnes & Thornburg’s Associations and Foundations group, was featured for her leadership efforts involving more than 300 nonprofit organizations, including professional societies, trade associations, public charities and private foundations During the COVID-19 pandemic, Goedert guided several hundred nonprofits through meeting cancellations, insurance claims and denials, virtual elections, staff furloughs, infected employees, office re-openings, and raids on endowments.

A partner in the firm’s Chicago office, Goedert has served as general or lead counsel for many national associations that represent prominent economy drivers, industries and professionals. Her guidance includes advising nonprofits on entity formation and tax issues, as well as strategic development and regulatory compliance.
