DALLAS – The Texas Bar College has selected Juanita DeLoach, PhD, an associate with Barnes & Thornburg, for membership in the renowned honorary society of lawyers. Attorneys are eligible for membership in the Texas Bar College after completing at least double the Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits required by the State Bar of Texas annually.
DeLoach is an intellectual property attorney with a focus on patent litigation, patent prosecution, trademarks, due diligence, and export compliance. She holds a PhD and bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering, and a second master’s in engineering management.
DeLoach earned her J.D. from Southern Methodist Law Dedman School of Law in 2012.
Prior her private law practice, DeLoach was a process engineer at Texas Instruments. In addition to other organizations, she is a member of J.L. Turner Legal Association, a lifetime member of the National Society of Black Engineers, and a member of the State Bar of Texas, where she serves on the IP Law Section Women and Minority Scholarship Diversity Committee.
“I am honored and excited to be selected as a member of the Texas Bar College, and I look forward to continuing my commitment to furthering my legal training and education through CLE,” DeLoach said.
The Texas Bar College, the only organization in the United States formed for this purpose, is an honorary society of lawyers, chartered by the Supreme Court of Texas in 1981, to recognize and encourage lawyers who maintain and enhance their professional skills and the quality of their service to the public by completing at least double the required hours of continuing legal education each year. The college also sponsors or otherwise assists in educational activities of significant merit and widespread relevance and applicability to the legal profession.
