Barnes & Thornburg’s Columbus Office Adds Two to Real Estate Team

COLUMBUS – Jordan Carr and Katrina Thompson have joined the Barnes & Thornburg’s Columbus office as associates and are members of the Real Estate department. Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, they were associates with Squire Patton Boggs.

These two attorneys bring Barnes & Thornburg’s growing Columbus office to 20 attorneys. Bill Nolan, a partner in the Columbus office, opened the office in 2009 and also joined from Squire Sanders, the predecessor of Squire Patton Boggs. In addition to the real estate capabilities, strengths of the office include labor and employment, government services, business litigation, intellectual property, workers compensation, environmental law, bankruptcy, construction and health care.

About the Attorneys

Jordan Carr focuses his practice on commercial leasing and community and economic development, including low-income housing tax credits and historic-rehabilitation tax credits. He represents syndicators, investors, funds and financial institutions in the acquisition, financing, sale and disposition of interests in real estate developments, as well as in the acquisition of equity interests in low-income housing tax credit and historic-rehabilitation tax credit projects.

Upon graduating from Ohio University with a B.B.A, magna cum laude, Jordan earned his J.D., summa cum laude, from The Ohio State University, Moritz College of Law. He was a member of the Order of the Coif and associate editor for the Ohio State Law Journal. Jordan is admitted to practice in the state of Ohio and the Southern District of Ohio.

Katrina Thompson represents investors, syndicators and community development entities in the acquisition, sale and disposition of equity interests involving low-income housing tax credits, historic tax credits, solar tax credits and new markets tax credits. She also focuses on commercial leasing and represents lenders and borrowers in senior, mezzanine and subordinated loan transactions.

Katrina earned her J.D., with high distinction, from Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law, where she was the valedictorian and the managing editor of the Ohio Northern University Law Review. She earned her B.A., with high distinction, from Ohio Northern University. Katrina is admitted to practice in the state of Ohio.
