Peter Melley, a staff attorney in the Washington, D.C., office, brings business acumen, strategic thinking and a keen outlook on how to approach a legal issue to his clients. Having been in venture capital, in-house counsel and in private practice, he understands and can help entities address the potential challenges and impacts that arise in the course of doing business.
Peter is skilled at reviewing and understanding the foundation of various contractual agreements. As such, he is uniquely able to provide legal and business insights when potential litigation stems from breaches, fraud or misrepresentations in connection to such agreements.
He earned his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, his M.S. in biotechnology from the University of Pennsylvania, and his B.S. in biology from The American University.
Irina Sullivan, an associate in the Chicago office, brings unique value to her relationships with inventors and companies alike as she combines outstanding technical proficiency with keen legal knowledge. Irina’s real-world engineering experience gives her an insight into the everyday realities and pressures her clients face.
An electrical engineer with hands-on work experience, Irina focuses her intellectual property practice on preparing and prosecuting patent applications for electrical hardware and software systems. This experience allows her to handle invention disclosures and provide support and guidance through virtually all stages of the application drafting and prosecution process.
She earned her J.D. from Wayne State University Law School in 2014, her M.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan in 2009, and her B.S. in electrical engineering from Kettering University in 2006.
