Webinar Description: Think you don't have bullies at work? Think again. A safe and respectful work environment can easily turn negative because of all-too-real occurrences of bullying at work. Bullying can be covert or overt. It may be missed by supervisors, but known by many throughout the organization. Why should employers care about bullying? Studies show that organizations suffer financially by not identifying and managing bullying-type behaviors in the workplace.

The effects of bullying are not limited to the targeted individuals and may lead to increased absenteeism, turnover, EAP costs and workplace accidents, as well as decreased productivity and morale, a reduced corporate image and poor customer service.

As with other types of problematic behaviors, employers need to define bullying behaviors so they can be recognized by supervisors and employees and, most importantly, be addressed and corrected appropriately. This webinar will discuss the definition of bullying and provide suggestions to employers on how to combat and address the negative effect bullying has on the workplace.

When: Thursday, March 27, 2014 | 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. (CT)

Presenter:

  • Tina Syring, Partner, Barnes & Thornburg LLP
